Can we swim in the lake? – Absolutely! There are turtles and fish, but they are the same species as you would encounter if you swim in our local rivers, so you don’t need to worry about them! Please remember, there is not a lifeguard on duty, so you do swim at your own risk.
What should we do with our trash? – Please tie your bags up and set them at the end of your parking area between 8:00 am and 9:00 am. One of our staff will be happy to dispose of it for you.
What time are “quiet hours”? – From 11:00 pm until 7:00 am all voices, noise and music should not be audible outside your reserved area.
Can we build a “campfire”? – Fires are allowed only in fire rings provided at each Tiny House or RV site. Exercise caution with fires and extinguish before departing.
Can we bring our own firewood? – The state of Missouri has several federal and state quarantines on forest pests such as gypsy moth, Asian longhorned beetle, imported fire ant, and thousand cankers disease. As a result, it is illegal to bring untreated firewood into Missouri from most out-of-state sources. Firewood originating from Clark, Scotland, Lewis, Marion, Adair, and Macon counties is prohibited from being moved to other areas within Missouri. Authorities in Missouri highly encourage the public to always buy, cut, or collect firewood as near as possible to where you will burn it (within 10 miles is best).
Can we use the pavilion? – As long as it hasn’t been reserved for a private event. There are cornhole boards, washer boxes, a volleyball for the volleyball court, picnic tables, bbq grills and a large fire pit at the pavilion that you also have access to. When you are finished please put the items back where you found them. There are also 2 restrooms located at the right side of the pavilion.
Can we use the kitchen in the pavilion? – Only if you have reserved the pavilion for a private event.
What time can we check in? – You can check in any time after 3:00 pm.
What time do we have to check out? – You must check out before 11:00 am.
How many vehicles can we bring? – There is room for one RV, one truck with a camper or trailer or two passenger vehicles at each RV site, truck with a trailer or two passenger vehicles at each Tiny House, or one vehicle near each treehouse or hobbit hut. If you have extra vehicles, please park them in the parking area at the office or pavilion. Vehicles are prohibited from parking in the grass and must stay on the gravel parking pads.
Can we fish in the lake? – Yes! There are crappie, perch, and catfish in the lake. You can either release fish immediately back into the lake or clean them for dinner.
Can we shoot off fireworks? – No. We do not allow fireworks.
Can we bring our pet? – Tiny House Adventures Resort is pet friendly.
Additional Lodging Rules – You are permitted to bring your housebroken pets for an additional pet fee of $25.00 per pet, per stay. Please do not leave your pets unattended inside any building. If damages occur due to your pet you will be held responsible. While outside we request that you keep your pet on a leash and clean up after them. No one wants to step in doggie poo! Service animals that have been properly trained to assist with a specific task are excluded from the pet fee, but you must let us know in advance that you are bringing a service animal and what task has the animal been trained to perform. Please note that animals whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA. Any reservation that is found to have pets not previously included on their reservation will be assessed a $50.00 + tax fee, per pet. Tiny House Adventures Resort reserves the right to remove pets and their owners for inappropriate behaviors, especially if they disturb or endanger other guests.

Can we have visitors? – Visitors are permitted but must leave by 11:00 pm. If staying later than that they are considered an additional guest and you must pay for them to stay. You are responsible for the behavior and actions of all persons staying with or visiting you. In addition, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tiny House Adventures Resort, of and from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages and expenses, including but not limited to attorney’s fees and court costs arising out of or in any way connected with or alleged to have risen out of use of the facilities.
Can we use the mess hall? – Access to the Mess Hall is included with all treehouse and hobbit hut reservations. You may use the kitchen and both restrooms inside, just clean up after yourself when you are finished. Items in the refrigerator belong to the person that put them there, please be respectful. You may use the stove, sinks, plates, coffee cups, glasses, flatware, etc, however, all of the items must be thoroughly cleaned, dried, and put away when you are finished.
What if we are bringing extra people? – You will need to call us at (573) 259-6040 to add them to your reservation.

Can we bring our dirt bike, ATV, UTV, or golf cart? – Side by sides, UTVs, 4-wheelers, motorcycles, dirt bikes, and golf cards are welcome, but must abide by the same rules as all other vehicles and are prohibited from being in the grass.
What is your smoking policy? – All of our buildings are NON SMOKING. You are permitted to smoke outside the buildings, under the pergola, on the porch, etc., but the windows and doors must remain closed. If there is a smoke odor inside the building the renter will be assessed a $200.00 cleaning fee. If tobacco waste is found on the ground, you are responsible for removal. Ashtrays and trash cans are provided for appropriate disposal. If not removed a charge of $100.00 per hour will be assessed for removal.
Is there somewhere nearby to buy firewood? – Just down the road, at 4075 Highway H, is a firewood stand. It is often left unattended, but there is an honesty box (and security camera) so please help yourself. If it happens to be empty don’t worry, Pete will surely be there soon to fill it back up.
